Faculty-Led Study Abroad Programs

Call for Study Abroad Proposals
Faculty-led Study Abroad

Deadline to Submit Proposal: Friday, September 1, 2023

It is with much excitement that the Missouri S&T Office of Experiential Learning announces the Call for Proposals for Faculty-led Study Abroad for programs to be offered during summer 2024 and beyond. Faculty-led study abroad programs are a critical aspect of campus internationalization efforts and provide strong international cohort experiences for students who may not be able to commit to a full semester or year abroad. They are also excellent opportunities for faculty who wish to teach and conduct academic work abroad in a fully supported capacity.

Our goal is to develop high-impact global engagement experiences for students serving a broad range of academic disciplines. As an example of a current faculty-led program available to S&T students, Dr. Robin Verble and Theo Sumnicht offered a very successful study abroad program to Ecuador this summer. Through this program, students gained hands on experience conducting research at the Tiputini Biodiversity Station.

Faculty interested in developing a new study abroad program should submit a program proposal online. You will need to select “Create Account” and then “Log in as an S&T or external user.”

If you need assistance or wish to speak with someone about your ideas for a faculty-led study abroad program, please do not hesitate to contact Paulina Brouder (brouderp@umsystem.edu).
