Foreign Students – Study Abroad at Missouri S&T:
International Students coming from universities from our student exchange programs or exchange program consortium can also come to S&T to study for a summer, semester, or an academic year .Missouri S&T, through its Office of International Affairs, welcomes about 20 study abroad students through its student exchange programs or exchange program consortium in addition to its 800 international students.
Missouri S&T is committed to creating an international environment for students and the campus. The Office of International Affairs is key in this process.
Safety:
The Office of International Affairs is continually working to grow opportunities for students abroad and on campus through the expansion of exchange partners and faculty-led programs, yet our main goal is to ensure the health, safety and security of its students and constituents wherever they are studying.
The University of Missouri System reviews how, when and where students may study abroad and considers issues of terrorism, war, disease and other risks to travelers. Accordingly, the Missouri System member universities observe the following practice: if the U.S. Department of State issues a travel warning for a particular country, study abroad programs will be suspended or canceled for our students of any nationality in that site while the warning is in effect. If a student or constituent chooses to study in one of these countries against the advice of the university, he/she will not be registered as a student and will not have access to university support, resources or facilities during that time.
Even if one of the focus of the office of International affairs is to expand opportunities for inbound and outband students at S&T by growing the number of S&T exchange partners, faculty-led programs , the office of International Affairs main goal is to ensure to ensure the health, safety and security of its students and constituents.
The University of Missouri system and its member universities do not support study abroad programs to countries for which the U.S. Department of State have issued travel warnings.
